House Flipping Startup Curbio to Expand into Seattle, 7 other Metro Markets

Curbio is a home renovation company that helps homeowners spruce up their home prior to selling.  They recently announced their expansion into an additional eight markets, including Seattle.

Curbio does face some opposition in the nation and in Seattle with its current model.  Many companies, including Realogy, are offer similar services to sellers.  Sellers can utilize services from Curbio to remodel their home, turning these homes into “turnkey” homes.  Turnkey is a phrase used in the industry to describe homes that you can “turn the key” and walk into it without needing to make any repairs.  It is very appealing to many homebuyers, especially the first-time homebuyers.

Their model allows for homeowners to do more for less, helping them make more cost-effective updates that will get more bang for your buck.  They will assign a project manager to handle the renovation, alleviating the stress that typically comes with hiring contractors.  Curbio and the contractors get paid after the home sells.  According to the Curbio site, projects typically last about four weeks and homes sell faster and for more.

Currently operating in Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington DC, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, Phoenix, Orlando, and Miami, Curbio is known as one of the fastest growing real estate tech company in the nation.  Having just had their first full year in business in 2018, Curbio secured millions in funding and won the National Association of Realtors’ iOi pitch battle.

Over the next few months, Curbio will expand further west including markets in Las Vegas, Minneapolis, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland, and of course, Seattle
